Dr. Saurabh Singh

Medical Officer In-Charge (MOIC), Block- Babaganj, District-Pratapgarh

“Previously, many people in our community believed that it was solely the ASHA’s responsibility to ensure that children received their vaccinations. As a result, they would often only come for vaccinations when the ASHA reminded them multiple times. However, with the help of the Safal Shuruaat program, we have been able to raise awareness about the importance of timely vaccination and the role of parents in ensuring their child’s health. As a result, more people in the community are taking an interest in their child’s well-being and are more proactive in getting them vaccinated. The ASHA’s mobilization efforts have become much easier as well, with many people now reaching out to her to inquire about upcoming vaccination dates.”

Madhuri

Mother, Block Amawan, District- Reabareli

“Before attending a meeting of Safal Shuruaat, I used to assume that it was solely the ASHA’s responsibility to get my child vaccinated. I didn’t fully understand the importance of immunization and the significance of getting the vaccination done on time. However, the meeting was an eye-opener for me, and I learned about many crucial aspects of childcare. I realized that as a parent, it was my responsibility to take charge of my child’s vaccination schedule. Now, if for any reason I miss a vaccination session in the village, I make sure to visit the block with my husband to get our child immunized on time. I am thankful to Safal Shuruaat for helping me understand the importance of timely vaccinations for my child’s overall health and well-being.”

Devendra

Father, Farmer, District- Pratapgarh

“Initially, when my wife Sarla was pregnant, the ASHA didi used to visit us and provide her with valuable information. However, it wasn’t until our daughter was born that the didi suggested I join the meetings as well, emphasizing the importance of both parents’ involvement in childcare. Initially, I was skeptical and unsure about my role, but upon Sarla’s insistence, I decided to participate. During one of these meetings, I was introduced to the Safal Shuruaat program, which highlighted the vital role that fathers play in their child’s development. Since then, I have made it a point to spend quality time with my daughter, feeding her, cleaning her, talking to her, and playing with her. I believe that this has not only helped my child develop better but also created a special bond between us that I cherish deeply. I am grateful to the ASHA didi and the Safal Shuruaat program for opening my eyes to the importance of a father’s involvement in childcare.”

Mausam Devi

“The Safal Shuruaat program is instrumental in supporting two crucial government initiatives, namely the routine immunization program and home-based newborn care. Thanks to the IPC session training provided by the program, I have been able to effectively communicate essential messages about childcare and development to the community in a compelling and impactful manner. Additionally, the program’s tools have been incredibly helpful in enabling me to explain the significance of immunization, nutrition, and hand hygiene to members of the community. I am grateful to the Safal Shuruaat program for equipping me with the necessary knowledge and resources to make a positive impact in the lives of the people I serve.”

Sunil Kumar

Pradhan (Village Head), Village- Bhogapur, Block- Laxmanpur, District- Pratapgarh

“During my conversation with the block coordinator of the Safal Shuruaat program, I learned about the program’s objectives and the vital role that the community plays in ensuring a child’s success, which ultimately leads to a village’s prosperity. Intrigued and eager to contribute, I asked him how I could help spread the program’s message to a wider audience. After identifying the most pressing needs, the FLWs, the SS team, and I decided to distribute handwashing stations to all beneficiaries, display posters of successful parents in the community to inspire others, and provide a bag to keep vaccination cards and other important documents related to the child’s health. We are committed to taking further steps toward ensuring the success of every child in our village. I express my sincere gratitude to the Safal Shuruaat program for the opportunity to make a positive impact in our community.”

“Before, I had not fully realized the crucial role that a father plays in a child’s upbringing as I was solely preoccupied with work. However, one day, the ASHA didi brought to my attention four crucial aspects that are imperative to ensure a successful life for a child and the father’s responsibility towards them. Since then, I have been ensuring that my child receives timely vaccinations, and I have even established a handwashing station at home to promote the habit of handwashing with soap among my family.”
