Context:
Amidst the complexities of parenting and the myriad of challenges parents face in today’s fast-paced world, it becomes essential to reinforce and promote positive parenting behaviours. Many parents juggle multiple responsibilities, making it easy to overlook or forget certain key parenting practices. Additionally, cultural norms and traditional beliefs may sometimes hinder parents from adopting the best childcare approaches. Hence, it becomes important to instil confidence in parents by reinforcing the notion that simple parenting practices can have a profound impact on their child’s success and well-being.

Purpose:
The purpose of the ‘Snakes and Ladders Game’ was to reinforce key parenting behaviours through an engaging and modified version of the traditional game. By associating good behaviour messages with ladder blocks and bad behaviour messages with snake blocks, the game indirectly emphasized the impact of parenting actions on the child’s future success. The interactive nature of the game encouraged group participation, fostering interaction and cheer. As an interactive tool, it motivated parents, provided feedback, set goals, and promoted social support for positive parenting outcomes.

Target Groups:
Parents of 0-2-year-old children

Key Messages:
The game creatively reminds the audience about the significance of timely immunization, handwashing with soap and other parenting behaviours. It uses a nostalgic and culturally relevant approach to emphasize that small changes in parenting can lead to significant positive outcomes for children.
